Weather Change Haiku

Four layers of clouds
white, yellow, grey and dark blue,
Texas sky so high.

This is how I first published, but I think the new one (top) is better.
Four layers of clouds
white, yellow, grey and dark blue,
so high Texas sky.

Imagine II (Warming up)

I am not I
I am a dictator, a warrior, an imbecile,
a magician, a poet.

Imagine (Warming up)

Words are traces of thoughts
music the trace of souls
and books the traces of personalities.

Dream Place

Leaves rustling softly
water gurgling along my way
a warm blanket my home.

------------------
This is a first step in finding and describing that place, living on my mood at the writing time, I think there are many more and very different dream places for me.

I am reading 'Writing across cultures, A Handbook on Writing Poetry & Lyrical Prose' by Edna Kovacs right now, and 'heat haiku' and this are based on 'warming up' exercises of that book. Nice book, good exercises, appealing explanations with impressive examples and an excellent setting in the person an life of the author.

Book of Longing, Philip Glass / Leonard Cohen

Poems, pictures, music
show Glass' and Cohen's longing:
so last century.

I had the pleasure of attending a Glass concert in the Bass Concert Hall in Austin (Feb. 22, 2009). And a pleasure it was. Then I started to think about not just what I heard, but what I had seen, too, and it had the feeling of a presentation with plastic decks. Liked musicians and singers, though.

Plastic Lives Haiku

Streets full of litter
the wind blowing bags and cups
wherever it turns.

Texas Winter

Hard land, dusty crusts,
splashing, soaking rain leaves clouds
of brown scent sprouting.
